The Top 3 Coastal Walks
From Rose Bay to Watson Bay Costal Walk
Sydney, a truly magical city with an abundance of attractions, invites you to explore its beauty. Lace up your shoes and embark on a journey of discovery! Get ready to be blown away by the breath-taking views that await you during these walks.
Today, I'm unveiling a hidden gem in Sydney that I simply can't keep to myself. It's the most exquisite coastal walk I've ever experienced, evoking memories of the coastal promenades in the south-eastern regions of France, which hold a special place in my heart.
Begin your journey at Rose Bay, a vibrant neighborhood filled with charming shops (don't forget to check out 'Made on Earth'), cosy cafes, and enticing restaurants.
Before you start your walk, here are a few suggestions for your convenience:
Grab a bottle of water to keep you hydrated during your journey !
Grab your lunch at Sonoma Bakery or savor an Acai bowl at Oakberry Acai
If you need to use the restroom before you go, Hotel Rose Bay is a convenient choice.
Now, you're all set to enjoy your coastal adventure!
To access the coastal promenade, you have two convenient options. You can choose to embark on a leisurely 10-minute stroll or, if you're in a hurry, hop on the bus at the 'New South Head Road & Coledonian Rd' stop and ride until you reach the 'New South Head & Vaucluse' stop, which happens to be the third stop on your route.
But hold on to your hats because the adventure has only just started! From this point onward, you'll seamlessly continue your journey along the trail. This path will lead you on an enthralling odyssey, allowing you to soak in the beauty of Hermit Bay, Tingara Beach, and the serene shores of Milk Beach. As you wander along, you'll also have the chance to take a leisurely stroll through the picturesque Strickland House Park. Eventually, your journey will lead you to the charming La Perouse area, with Shark Beach inviting you right in front.
As you conclude the initial segment of your adventure, you'll find yourself at Bottle and Glass Point, a destination that promises a truly breathtaking spectacle. This spot is no ordinary location; it's the perfect setting for a delightful picnic or a refreshing swim in the immaculate white rocks and the crystal-clear waters of Vaucluse Bay.
With your energy levels recharged, the excitement continues as you explore Vaucluse Bay, where you can take a captivating detour to visit Vaucluse House. The best part? It's absolutely free to enter! This place is steeped in history and opens its doors to visitors from 10 am to 3 pm, concluding the day at 4 pm, from Wednesdays to Sundays.
But the adventure is far from over! Make your way to Wentworth Road, where you'll be struck with awe as you reach the beautiful house at the end of Fitzwillian Road. This unique circular-shaped residence clings to the edge of a cliff, offering an unparalleled view of the ocean that's sure to leave you in wonder.
Keep the momentum going as you advance, reaching Parsley Passage and its charming Bay Bridge.
Your adventure keeps moving forward until you finally arrive at Watsons Bay. Here, I strongly recommend treating yourself to a well-deserved break at Watsons Bay Boutique Hotel. It's not just a pit stop; it's a sensory paradise! Enjoy a refreshing drink, perhaps indulge in some snacks and freshen up in their restrooms. What's more, feel free to ask them to charge your phone – they've got you covered.
Now, here's the deal: you won't want to linger too long because the real magic happens at Hornby Lighthouse during the spectacular sunset hour. It's a jaw-dropping viewpoint perched on the cliff, offering a mesmerizing panorama of the Sydney skyline.
But here's a quirky tidbit for you – on your way to the lighthouse, you'll pass by 'Lady Bay Beach,' a spot where clothing is entirely optional!
