Coogee Walk

The Top 3 Coastal Walks

From South Bondi Beach to Coogee Beach

Sydney, a truly magical city with an abundance of attractions, invites you to explore its beauty. Lace up your shoes and embark on a journey of discovery! Get ready to be blown away by the breath-taking views that await you during these walks.

This coastal stroll is the most famous one in Sydney and happens to be the first one I experienced on my initial visit to Bondi Beach. It's a must-do, especially in late October when the "Sculpture by the Sea" event takes place! Begin your walk by taking in the sights of the magnificent Iceberg Swimming Pool, a remarkable pool that seems to emerge right from the ocean.

Stroll through the lush Gaerloch Reserve, a tranquil prelude to the sandy shores of Tamarama Beach. Known as a prime spot for novice surfers, this beach boasts gentle waves, few rocky outcrops, and crystal-clear waters, making it an ideal playground for water enthusiasts. Your next destination is the picturesque Bronte Beach, where you'll discover natural rock pools on the southern end. Take a refreshing dip in these pools, providing a rejuvenating interlude in the heart of nature's beauty.

As you continue your expedition, ascend to the heights of Burrows Park and be rewarded with a breathtaking panoramic vista of the coastline. The journey unfolds with a leisurely walk through Clovelly Beach, a charming coastal gem, and a delightful circuit around Gordons Bay, a haven for marine life enthusiasts.

Arriving at the end of the bay, you'll encounter the enchanting Dolphins Point, a vantage point offering spectacular views. If you're lucky, you may even spot a playful dolphin pod or majestic whales making their way northward, particularly during July's migration season.

Congratulations, you've reached your destination! Coogee Beach welcomes you with open arms, where you can relish a leisurely swim in the inviting waters between the beach sand and Giles Bath. Keep your eyes peeled for fascinating marine life, from curious crabs to elusive octopuses and the occasional graceful stingray.

As the sun begins to dip below the horizon, savor a well-deserved sunset and beverage at the lively Coogee Pavilion.

Just remember to bring your ID for entry – it's the perfect way to conclude your unforgettable coastal adventure.

Drink responsably!
